We are a volunteer-led, community nonprofit organization working for the poor children, families and schools in Siquijor, Philippines

Our nonprofit community organization has been registered in California since 1997, in accordance within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code of 1986. and The Republic of the Philippines since 2008, in accordance with the corporate code of the Philippine ( Batas Pambansa Blg. 68 ) .
The members of our team have diverse educational backgrounds, varying ages, gender and work experience but all have the same zeal to fulfill the goals of our organization. The Starter Homes family continues to grow monthly with the addition of each new member, sponsor, donor, volunteer and beneficiary. We are a family by choice, not heritage.
We have a single goal - to change the lives of these poor children and enhance their abilities Thru teaching of computer knowledge and training. To help achieve this we are providing educational services, will build computer classrooms complete with all necessary equipment and educational tools and are in the process of establishing a library. We are always trying to provide educational opportunities and supplies to these underprivileged children, which we are able to do with the donations we collect and sponsorship of our projects.
Our aim
Our mission is to provide quality ‘technical education and training”, which we hope to achieve through the following three specific ways:
| 1. Establishing Starter Homes Computer Labs This Lab will include teaching in local schools to local children that have minimal education or have dropped out of school. This will be an ongoing effort of providing free educational opportunities with the help of our volunteers. |
| 2. Further Growth of Starter Homes This project will require us to take full responsibility for the building and establishment of all endeavors throughout the Island of Siquijor that will assist in the continued learning and housing of these children to ensure that they have a better life.We also want to continue to assist those families that are in need of better housing have a home that is dependalbe and reliable enough to withstand the elements of nature that effect their lives on a daily basis. |
| 3. Scholarship Program This will be open to the Siquijor children and other locals. This is an ongoing effort that will be sustained by soliciting monetary donations and educational materials. Our Goal is to send at least 2 children a year to the local university. They will continue to receive the scholarship as long as they maintain an A average. |
